Catch the Chicks

Catch the Chicks is a traditional game played by children in Taiwan. It's a lovely game for young children but is suitable for older children too.

Age: All ages

No. of players: 4 or more

Equipment: None

Time: 5+ minutes

Aim: To protect the chicks from the eagle.



1. Players choose to be either the eagle, the mother hen or the baby chicks.

2. The chicks stand in a row behind mother hen.

3. The eagle's job is to try and catch a chick while the hen tries to stop the eagle and protect her chicks.

4. When a chick is caught, he then becomes the eagle.
