Coffee PotAge: Adults and older children No. of players: 4 or more Equipment: None Time: 10 minutes+ Aim: The aim is to guess a hidden word. Coffee Pot is a tricky word game for adults and older children. However, the clues can be made easier or harder to suit the players. 1. One player leaves the room while the other players choose a word which is common and can be easily guessed. The first player returns and tries to discover the hidden word by asking each player a different question. The answers must include the word, except that the hidden word is replaced by the phrase “coffee pot”. 2. For example, in a game where the hidden word is “bridge”, the conversation could be:
Answer 1: I went to the beach. On the way I drove over a long, tall coffee pot. Question 2: Do you have a pet? Answer 2: I have a dog that I take for a walk along the river and over the coffee pot that leads to the park. Question 3: What is your favourite movie? Answer 3: My favourite is the old war movie, “Coffee Pot on the River Kwai.”
