Jumping Forward Race

Jumping Forward Race is a popular game played by the Inuit (Eskimo) people in Alaska.

Age: 5+

No. of players: Any

Equipment: None

Time: 5+ minutes

Aim: To be the first to reach the finish line.



1. Before the game is played, mark a starting line and a finishing line about 3 metres (3 yards) away.

2. Players stand on the starting line with their arms folded across their chests.

3. On the starting signal they jump forward towards the finishing line with their feet remaining close together and their knees kept as straight as possible.

4. The winner is the player who reaches the finishing line first.
