Marbles Sliding Game

Marbles Sliding Game is a traditional game played by the Plains Cree people in North American. It was played on a snowy bank.

Age: 5+

No. of players: Any

Equipment: Equal number of marbles per child; a dirt hill

Time: 10+ minutes

Aim: To score the most points.



1. Before the game is played, prepare the ground. You need a smooth slope about 1 metre (5 ft) long. At the end of the slope make 12 small holes.

2. Assign each hole a different scoring value (1 to 12).

3. Each player takes a turn rolling the marbles down the slope. If the marble lands in a hole the player receives the number of points assigned to the hole.

4. The players keep score of their points. The winner is the player with the most points at the end of the game.
