Mating Game

Mating Game is a noisy but fun ice breaker game for parties and get-togethers of all kinds.

Age: All ages

No. of players: Large groups

Equipment: None

Time: 5+ minutes

Aim: To find your partner based on the noise they make.

Mating Game can be played at any point during a set of party games, although it is a good mixer to introduce people and get them feeling more comfortable with each other.

1. Players are lined up into two equal teams.

2. The Leader should allocate each player in one team a different animal noise (cow, horse, sheep, dog, cat, etc.) The Leader then goes to the other team and gives the same noises to each of those players. Each animal noise should be given to one (and only one) player on each team. To make it easier to keep a record of which noises the Leader has allocated, you may wish to write the player's name from each team next to the sound.

3. At a given signal, all the players mingle around, making the sound of their animal and trying to find their mate, the player on the other team who has been given the same animal noise. Once the two players find each other they put up their hands and go to the Leader who checks that they have the right partner.

Variations:
Variation: If there are too many players for the number of animal noises you have, three (or more) players can be given the same sound and must find their group of three (or more).
