Printable Chess Board
Before you can open or print this printable chess board, you will need Adobe Reader (the latest version is recommended) installed on your computer. Most computers already have it installed. If not, you can download a free copy of Adobe Reader here (a new window will open so you can download it without leaving this page). If you want to open the file in your browser window, just click on the link. However, if you want to download the file to view or print it later, then right-click on the link and choose "Save Target As" or "Save File As." Then select where you want to save the file on your hard drive. Once you have saved the file, locate where you saved it, and double click to open. You can then print the board by clicking on the "Print" icon or the File->Print menu. The Chess board can be printed on paper and then cut and glued to a large sheet of thick cardboard, or you may be able to print it directly onto two sheets of cardboard if your printer can print on cardboard. You would then need to stick the two sheets together. Chess pieces can also be printed on paper and glued to cardboard or can be printed directly to cardboard. If you are just learning chess, you may like to print a second copy on paper so you can identify the different pieces.
