Coloured chalk mural is a wonderful and creative activity for children to do at Easter time. Let their imaginations run wild as they express themselves in this delightful game.
Age: All ages
No. of players: 2 or more
Equipment: Several boxes of coloured chalk
Time: Approximately 20 minutes
Aim: To create a mural about Easter
1. Take the children outside to an area where there is a large pavement or driveway area. Put the children into teams of 2, 3 or 4. Give each team a box of coloured chalk and ask them to create a mural about Easter.
2. Each team can come up with its own idea (which could be of a religious theme or not) or you can assign the teams a portion of the Easter story to draw. For example, team 1 could draw Jesus riding on a donkey while team 2 draws Jesus dying on the cross and team 3 draws the empty tomb.
3. When the teams have finished their murals gather everyone together and look at each mural. Ask the teams to explain their pictures.
Don't worry too much about cleaning the murals as the rain (or a hose) will eventually wash them away.
