The printable Checkers board can be printed on paper and then cut and glued to a large sheet of thick cardboard, or you may be able to print it directly onto two sheets of cardboard if your printer can print on cardboard. You would then need to stick the two sheets together.

Chess pieces can also be printed on paper and glued to cardboard or can be printed directly to cardboard. If you are just learning chess, you may like to print a second copy on paper so you can identify the different pieces.

You may find it easier to make the checkers pieces by gluing the plain pieces (both black and white) to a piece of cardboard before you cut them out. The Kings (both black and white) can be cut out separately before you glue them on the back of the corresponding plain checkers pieces. You should end up with twelve white pieces (plain on one side and King on the other), and twelve black pieces (plain on one side and King on the other).
