Travellers Alphabet

Travellers Alphabet is an easy parlor game for groups of five or more players. Players travel around the world, one letter at a time.

Age: Adults and older children

No. of players: Large groups

Equipment: None

Time: 5 minutes+

Aim: To name a destination and activity based on successive letters of the alphabet.


Traveller's Alphabet is a simple word game for adults and older children. Player sit in a circle or around a table.

1. Player One says, "I am going to Africa", or any other destination that starts with the letter "A" (for example, Amsterdam, Australia, Alabama, or possibly an Asteroid). The other players ask, "What will you do there?" Player One responds with a sentence where each word starts with "A". For example, "I shall Argue with an Angry Antelope."(Small words can be included such as; the, a, an, of, or, by, with.)

2. Player Two then starts with "I am going to Baltimore" where "I shall Breed Blue Buffaloes"

3. Play continues around the circle. Each player starts their sentences with the next letter of the alphabet.

4. Any player who cannot think of a suitable destination or an activity to do there is eliminated.
