Grandma is Blind

Grandma is Blind is a favourite game among the boys and girls in Poland.

Age: 7+

No. of players: 10 or more

Equipment: One blindfold

Time: 5+ minutes

Aim: To avoid being caught by Grandma.

1. Before you start the game mark a circular boundary in which players must remain.

2. Choose one player (girl or boy) to be "Grandma". Blindfold Grandma and turn her around several times.

3. The remaining players stand around Grandma within the circular boundary and the following conversation takes place:

Players: "Grandma, Grandma, where are you?"
    Grandma: "On a barrel."
Players: "What does the barrel hold?"
Grandma: "It is full of fish."
Players: "Grandma, are you as nimble as the fish?"
    Grandma: "Indeed I am."

4. All the players now run within the boundary shouting, "Grandma, Grandma", while Grandma tries to catch them. The first one caught becomes Grandma for the next game.
