Kick and Catch is a favourite African game played in the streets of Morocco. The traditional ball is made by tying old rags together.
Age: All ages
No. of players: 4+
Equipment: one rag ball
Time: 5+ minutes
Aim: To make ten catches in a row without dropping the ball.
1. To begin the game, divide the players into two teams. The teams then stand facing each other.
2. A referee begins the game by kicking the rag ball up into the air.
3. All the players try to catch it with their hands. Whoever does catch it quickly kicks the ball back into the air. The ball should be kicked above head height and towards another member of the player's own team.
4. Players on the kicker's team try to continually keep the ball in their possession by kicking it to each other while the opposing team attempt to capture the ball for their team. Players should not make contact with another player for any reason.
5. Continue playing the game in this manner.
6. The winner is the first team that makes ten catches in a row without dropping the ball.
