Animal races make terrific outdoor games to play at birthday parties, family reunions, kids clubs and youth groups. They can be adapted for themed parties as well.
Age: All ages
No. of players: Any number
Equipment: None
Time: Approximately 5 minutes
Aim: To be the first to reach the finish line.
1. The organiser chooses an animal for the players to become. For example, your first race may be a kangaroo race so all players become kangaroos. The idea is for the children to assume the animal positions and move like the animal.
2. Players line up at the starting line. On the word "Go", players hop like kangaroos (or the chosen animal) to the finish line.
3. The first player across the finish line is the winner.

Easter Variation: Bunny Races - children can hop like a rabbit and receive an Easter egg prize at the end of the race.
